About the Snowflake 5K Run/Walk - Nyack Community Ambulance Corps
The course follows a loop through neighborhood streets, with most of it flat and one real climb along the way. It runs near the Hudson River, so the winter scenery is part of the deal. The race benefits local organizations, and the atmosphere skews toward families and anyone who wants a reason to get outside between the holidays.
Packet pickup is the day before at the Ambulance Corps building, which also serves as the start and finish. Hot chocolate and warm cider are at the finish, which feels right for a late-winter morning. A kids race runs alongside the main event, and Frosty the Snowman has been known to show up.
