About the Smoky Bear Turkey Chase 5K
This is a Thanksgiving morning race that starts and finishes at Sevier County High School. The course details are still being finalized, so the exact route is not yet set, but the race goes on regardless of weather, which gives a late-fall morning in the mountains its own particular character. Strollers are permitted.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school football stadium, with race-morning pickup available before the gun goes off. Refreshments are provided after you finish. The race benefits the Sevier County High School Foundation and its STEM scholarship program.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Smoky Bear Turkey Chase 5K has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
