About the 10th Annual SJVRC ONE MILE FOR ONE CHILD
The course runs through Almaden Lake Park, staying close to the water and the picnic areas along the shore. The route is short enough that most runners finish feeling they could go again, and the park setting keeps things quiet and open. The race raises money for children in Vietnam and Thailand, so the crowd tends to skew toward families and people who came together.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a nearby running store on Almaden Expressway. On race morning, free street parking is available along Winfield Boulevard, and there is also a lot accessible from the east entrance to the park.
