About the SIUE Cougars Unleashed Homecoming Run
This race runs on the campus of a university in Edwardsville as part of homecoming weekend, with a route tied to a historic highway centennial theme. Several distance options mean faster runners and casual joggers share the same start area on the Stratton Quad. Dogs are welcome on course. Proceeds support student scholarships through the alumni association.
Packet pickup happens at a local running store on Main Street in the days before the race, with an evening registration party earlier in the week and afternoon hours the day before. On race morning, there are pancakes from a well-known pancake crew and post-run beer for those of age. Trophies and awards follow for top finishers across age groups.
