This walk and run starts inside a park near a pavilion, with the start and finish line marked by a banner. The course is a 5K, and the event draws participants from across the country to Houston each spring in recognition of National Minority Health Awareness month. The proceeds support breast cancer assistance programs for uninsured and underinsured Black women.
