About the 4th Annual Shore to Shorecrest 5K
This is a point-to-point course that runs from a park along the waterfront to a school campus, so there is no looping back and no retracing your steps. The route carries a bit of history with it: the race traces the distance between where the school once stood and where it stands today. The terrain is typical of Saint Petersburg, flat and open.
Packet pickup happens at the campus athletic center on the two evenings before race day. Parking at the start is limited, and the organizers strongly encourage carpooling. A coffee vendor is at the start while you wait, and a warm-up is led before the gun. After the race, breakfast is served on the campus green, with vendors and entertainment for families who stick around.
