About the Run For All Children

The course starts and finishes at the hospital, running along the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront. The route is flat and follows the water, so there is scenery to keep you moving. After finishing, the hospital grounds host a celebration with a kids' dash, making it a morning that draws plenty of families.

Parking is free in the hospital's own garages, just steps from the start. Packet pickup is available in the week before the race, which the organizers strongly recommend, and there is also a morning-of option at the main hospital entrance.

Common Questions About the Run For All Children

Will I finish last at the Run For All Children?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 38:28, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:06, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run For All Children a good first 5K?

With 942 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run For All Children?

The 5K winner ran 17:26 while the median finisher took 38:28. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
