About the Shark Week Showdown 5K & 10K - Houston, TX
The race runs through Oyster Creek Park, an ocean-themed event put on by Bigfoot Running Company. The course has aid stations along the way and music at the start and finish. Several distance options mean kids, casual walkers, and runners chasing a personal best are all out there on the same morning.
Packet pickup closes shortly before the start, so arriving early is worth it. The finish line has awards for overall and age-group placers in the chip-timed distances, and post-race festivities follow the last finisher in.
