About the Shakespeare River Run 5K & 1M
The course runs along the banks of three rivers through historic downtown Rome, starting and ending at Bridgepoint Plaza. The terrain is flat and the route is scenic, with the rivers close enough that you can hear them. Costumes are encouraged, and plenty of people show up in Renaissance attire, which makes the whole morning feel a little unusual in the best way.
Race-morning packet pickup is at the event tent at the plaza before the start. Parking in the lot behind the MSP building is closed for the event, so street parking near Broad Street and a nearby free parking deck are the better options.
