About the Scarecrow Scramble
The Scarecrow Scramble runs in the evening, so the air is cooler and the whole thing feels more like a neighborhood event than a typical morning race. Costumes are encouraged, and enough people show up dressed that it changes the atmosphere on the course. The race benefits a local parks scholarship fund, which draws a crowd that includes families and kids doing their own shorter runs.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Lisle Recreation Center, with race-day pickup available before the start. Afterward, a local vendor grills beef hot dogs and portobello mushroom steak dogs with Chicago-style toppings, and Bubblehouse Brewing Company provides post-race beer for those of age.
