About the SayStrong 5K
The SayStrong 5K is a Halloween-themed race held in honor of Saydee, with proceeds supporting the Ronald McDonald House. Costumes are part of the culture here, and there is a contest for them. The event is built around the run but extends well beyond it, with food trucks, yard games, and a DJ keeping things going after the course is done.
The post-race area is set up for staying a while, so bringing a chair is worth it. There is also a trick-or-treating element woven into the festivities. The race benefits families of children with medical needs, which gives the whole morning a clear sense of purpose.
