About the Sarasota Half Marathon
The course runs through Lakewood Ranch in a loop format, with each distance completing a different number of loops through the same route. The terrain is flat, and the surroundings feel suburban and open. A local bike club patrols the course, and there are water stops spread across the route. A guided group stretch happens in the minutes before the gun goes off.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a running store inside a nearby mall, with race-morning pickup available at the start area. Parking is at a church directly across from the start on Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. After the race, local vendor booths are set up near the finish, and there is music and post-race food on site.
