About the Sandhills Trail Race Series (30 Hour - 50k - 25k - 7.5 Mile)
The course runs through Sesquicentennial State Park on soft pine needle singletrack, with a few paved stretches around the lake and rolling sandy ridges under a canopy of pines. It is a loop format, so shorter distances peel off early while the ultra runners keep going, day into night, with a personal base camp area at the start and finish where crews can set up and wait.
Parking is behind the ranger station, following event arrows to an open field next to the start and finish. Packet pickup is at a picnic shelter in that same area. The aid station there is fully stocked with pickles, cookies, candy, chips, pretzels, water, Coke, and ginger ale; there is also a water stop partway around the loop. Bring your own cup or hydration vessel, as no cups are provided.

The Sandhills Trail Race Series (30 Hour - 50k - 25k - 7.5 Mile) has been held every year since at least 2020. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
