About the RYR Endurance Race Weekend

The course runs on an asphalt greenway through Horse Fork Creek Park, shaded for most of the route with occasional glimpses of small lakes. It is flat throughout, and the multi-loop design means spectators can watch from one spot and catch runners several times over. The park has a playground and soccer fields near the start and finish area.

One of the more practical touches: tables are set up along the course so runners can stage their own nutrition rather than relying entirely on aid stations. The weekend splits into two distinct events, one open to multiple distances and a busier field, the other capped and run separately for those chasing a qualifier or a personal best.

Common Questions About the RYR Endurance Race Weekend

Will I finish last at the RYR Endurance Race Weekend?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 31:00, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:46, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the RYR Endurance Race Weekend a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (56 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the RYR Endurance Race Weekend?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:43 while the median finisher took 31:00. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
