About the Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk

The course runs through South Mountain Reservation and loops around Orange Reservoir, so most of the route is flat with a stretch of rolling terrain and a couple of moderate climbs mixed in. The first section has a gentle downhill out and a steady climb back, and the reservoir loop is almost entirely flat along the shoreline. The surrounding scenery does most of the talking.

The start area sits on Cherry Lane near a parking lot, with Essex County Turtle Back Zoo right alongside the course. Post-race festivities and family activities take place at the zoo, which is there when you finish.
