About the Running of the Bulls
Van Cortlandt Park is one of the Bronx's largest green spaces, and this course takes you onto its trail network rather than keeping things on pavement. Expect natural terrain underfoot, tree cover, and the kind of quiet that feels surprising for a city race. The route moves through the park's wooded sections, so the surroundings shift noticeably from the streets outside.
Bib pickup starts before the gun at the Tortoise and Hare Statue inside the park, and bag check is available there too. If you are coming from outside the neighborhood, give yourself extra time to find that specific meeting point within the park.

The Running of the Bulls has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 24, 2026.
