About the Run Wild 5K, 10K and Smokey Bear Kids Fun Run
Both courses run on park roads closed to traffic inside Potawatomi State Park, through tree-lined forest typical of a Door County autumn. The shorter route stays relatively flat, while the longer one takes you up tower hill, a real climb that defines the race for anyone who enters it. Entry fees go toward park improvement projects.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at Bay Shore Outfitters in Sturgeon Bay, with race-morning pickup available at the park. The park entrance fee is waived for runners arriving before mid-morning. Awards are handed out on race day only and will not be mailed, so plan to stick around if you are competing for an age-group spot.
