The course follows the Columbia River for the whole distance, moving through Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco on paved paths and roads. The terrain stays flat throughout, which draws runners chasing a fast time alongside those who are just out to cover the miles. Three parks break up the route, and the surrounding mountains sit on the horizon the whole way.
