About the Royal Family Superhero Fun Run, 5K, 10K
The course runs out of Columbia Park, starting near the bandshell by the Playground of Dreams and heading west along the river. It is an out-and-back on all distances, so you follow the same stretch of riverfront each way, with aid stations at the turnaround points carrying water and sports drink.
The start and finish area has food trucks, face painting, balloon artists, and music. Runners are welcome to come dressed as a favorite superhero, and there is a costume contest alongside the racing. The whole event raises money for a local foster children's camp, so the crowd tends to run toward that cause.
