About the Run The Land - East vs. West

The courses run through Cleveland neighborhoods and out into a few surrounding suburbs, staying on sidewalks and following traffic laws the whole way. Runners track themselves with a GPS app that calls out turns and confirms the finish, which takes some pressure off navigation. The race finishes at Forest City Brewery, where a drink ticket is waiting.

Packet pickup the evening before is at Great Lakes Brewing Company. Race morning, the start is along Columbus Road at Willey Avenue. Free street parking is available near the finish, and a church lot a short walk from the start is also free. The West Side Market lot is a paid option a few minutes away on foot.

Common Questions About the Run The Land - East vs. West

Will I finish last at the Run The Land - East vs. West?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:02:48, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:33:26, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Run The Land - East vs. West a good first 10K?

It is a small race (111 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Run The Land - East vs. West?

The 10K winner ran 39:04 while the median finisher took 1:02:48. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
