The course follows the Mission Reach Trail along the San Antonio River, with tall trees overhead and the historic Spanish Missions nearby. The terrain is trail-style but accessible, and the river views stay with you most of the way. It runs through Mission County Park, so the surroundings feel more natural preserve than urban street race.
