About the Run for Pie 5K
The course runs through Glasgow Park on Thanksgiving morning, so the field skews toward families and friends out for a pre-feast tradition rather than a hard effort. The park setting keeps things on smooth paths through open space, and the race wraps up early enough to leave plenty of time for the rest of the day.
Bib pickup happens race morning at the park, right up until the start. There is pumpkin pie and apple pie at the finish. Runners are also encouraged to bring canned goods and pantry staples for a local food drive benefiting the Newark Area Welfare Committee.
