The course follows a path along Rome's three rivers, staying flat the whole way and looping back to a park near downtown. The surroundings are open and scenic, with water in view for much of the run, and the finish area sits right along the riverbank.
The race supports a local Cherokee memorial sculpture project through the Rome Rotary. That connection gives the event a grounded, place-specific purpose beyond the run itself.
