About the Rodeo Stampede - Oklahoma City
The course runs through parks and greenbelts around Oklahoma City, so the surroundings stay green and open for most of the route. Several distance options are available, from a short dash up to a half marathon, and there is a kids dash for younger runners. The terrain is the kind you find in city park systems, generally friendly underfoot with room to spread out.
The finish area has a real festival atmosphere. A DJ keeps things going while a host announces runners across the line. Snacks and refreshments are set up at the finish tent. There is also a costume contest judged by crowd noise, and a Bigfoot character makes the rounds for photos and high fives.
