About the OCAPL Family Fall Festival & Fun Run
The race starts and finishes at the Wheeler Ferris Wheel in Oklahoma City, so the surroundings are more festival than footrace. There is a one-mile option and a longer run, both untimed, which fits the afternoon atmosphere. The course is flat and along the riverfront area near the wheel. Costume prizes are part of the deal, so plenty of people show up dressed for it.
Packet pickup opens at the Ferris Wheel before the runs begin, with the mile starting first and the longer run shortly after. Post-race, food trucks and a beer truck are set up on site. The event raises money for a local organization that supports people going through cancer treatment.
