About the Rodeo Stampede - Houston
The course runs through parks and greenbelts in Houston, so the surroundings feel green and open rather than urban. Several distance options mean the field is a mix of people chasing a personal best and others out for the experience. The western theme runs all the way through, from the costume contest judged by crowd noise to a Bigfoot character roaming the start and finish area.
The finish area has a rally tent with snacks and refreshments, a DJ announcing every finisher by name, and live awards for overall and age group winners. A kids dash is part of the morning, with its own finish-line moment. Water is available at stations out on the course.
