About the Rockford Road Runners Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
This is a trail race through Atwood Park, and the organizer is upfront about what that means: hills, rocks, roots, and more hills. The distance is treated as approximate, which fits the spirit of a course that has been run on Thanksgiving morning for decades to benefit the Rock River Valley Food Pantry.
Packet pickup is race morning at the south park entrance on Rydberg Road, so there is no need to come out the day before. Registration must be completed online before race day. The start is a mass wave, chip-timed, with a guess-your-finish-time format for added fun.
