About the Rio Grande Half Marathon and One Medal 5k Run/Walk

The course runs through the Bosque, the cottonwood forest that lines the Rio Grande, with the Sandia Mountains visible to the east. The trail is flat the whole way, which draws people chasing a personal best as well as those out for a long morning run in the trees.

After the race, there is live music at the finish, craft beer from a local brewery, and New Mexico breakfast burritos from a local spot. The post-race area has the feel of a proper outdoor gathering rather than a quick pack-up-and-leave finish line.
