About the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Oklahoma City

The race runs through Draper Park on trails, so expect natural surfaces rather than pavement. The area shows off open green space, and the course is designed to work for a range of efforts, from a short dash to a half marathon. A DJ keeps things moving at the race rally tent near the finish.

After finishing, there are snacks and water at the rally tent, where the DJ is still going and awards are announced live. Aid stations are posted along the course to cover you on the longer distances.

Common Questions About the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Oklahoma City

Will I finish last at the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Oklahoma City?

Almost certainly not. Half the 4 Miles field finished slower than 45:43, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:09:51, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Oklahoma City a good first 4 Miles?

It is a small race (95 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 4 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Red, White and Blue Half Marathon - Oklahoma City?

The 4 Miles winner ran 27:05 while the median finisher took 45:43. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
