About the Rebel Run 5k

The course runs clockwise around Central Park on mostly concrete, with a short stretch of packed dirt. It is genuinely flat, and the partial loop means you pass through the finish area before you are done, which gives you a sense of where you stand. There are no water stations out on the course, so bring what you need.

Parking is available near the start and in lots around the park. Portable toilets are at the start and finish only, not along the route. After finishing, there is food, drinks, and a spread of sponsor booths to wander through while you cool down.

Common Questions About the Rebel Run 5k

Will I finish last at the Rebel Run 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 30:11, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:01:28, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Rebel Run 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (144 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Rebel Run 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:27 while the median finisher took 30:11. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.

Where can I train for the Rebel Run 5k?

Join a local run club. Rocky Mountain Road Runners, Colorado Harriers, Revolution Running and others in Denver welcome runners of all paces, and a weekly group run is the most reliable way to hold a training block together.
