About the Random Medal 5K
The course runs through John Hunt Park, and the terrain there is what you would expect from a park trail setting. The signature moment comes after the finish, when runners reach into sealed boxes and pull out a surprise, blind. There are two separate boxes from two different organizations, so you leave with a pair of unknowns, neither one chosen.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at RunningLane on Memorial Parkway, with race-morning pickup available at the park for those who cannot make it the day before. The start area is at the park trails, so parking and staging are built around that setting.

Random Medal 5K 2026 Results
Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Random Medal 5K has been held every year since at least 2026. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 22, 2026.
