About the Race with Grace 5K AND 10K

The Race with Grace runs on Thanksgiving morning, starting and finishing at Lakeshore Community Church. The course follows public roads, so strollers are welcome, though runners share the pavement with traffic. The route is the third the event has used across its long history as a Rochester Thanksgiving tradition. Awards go to top finishers across open, masters, and age group categories.

Packet pickup runs the two evenings before the race at Rochester Running Company on Mt. Hope Avenue, with a shorter window on race morning at the church. Food and refreshments are available after, and results are posted online. A digital clock marks the finish, and all runners start together.

Common Questions About the Race with Grace 5K AND 10K

Will I finish last at the Race with Grace 5K AND 10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:21, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:11:22, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Race with Grace 5K AND 10K a good first 5K?

A field of 401 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Race with Grace 5K AND 10K?

The 5K winner ran 19:33 while the median finisher took 36:21. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
