About the 2026 PGXC Race Series

The PGXC series is a cross country circuit that moves through several parks and school grounds across the region over the course of the fall season, ending with a championship race. The courses run on grass, open fields, and soft trails, and spikes are the recommended footwear. It draws both seasoned cross country runners and people new to the format, with team and individual competition built in.

Registration and bib pickup happen at the shelter at each venue, and parking is right there at the start area. Results go up shortly after racing ends, and an awards ceremony follows on site.

Common Questions About the 2026 PGXC Race Series

Will I finish last at the 2026 PGXC Race Series?

Almost certainly not. Half the 4.8 Miles field finished slower than 34:50, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:11:59, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 2026 PGXC Race Series a good first 4.8 Miles?

A field of 261 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 4.8 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 2026 PGXC Race Series?

The 4.8 Miles winner ran 25:25 while the median finisher took 34:50. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
