About the Race Judicata

Race Judicata is the young lawyers division of the local bar association's annual road race, and it leans into the legal theme without apology. The course offers a shorter and a longer distance option, and team competition adds a firm-vs-firm element that draws a crowd with an agenda beyond a personal best. Both runners and walkers take part.

The post-race area has real staying power: a beer garden, a mimosa bar with non-alcoholic options, and a yoga stretch zone. The race benefits two organizations focused on athletes with disabilities, so the finish-line crowd tends to stick around with that in mind.

Common Questions About the Race Judicata

Will I finish last at the Race Judicata?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:10, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:30:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Race Judicata a good first 5K?

It is a small race (60 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Race Judicata?

The 5K winner ran 20:40 while the median finisher took 33:10. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
