About the Publix Woodstock 5K
The course begins outside Anniston High School and winds through the historic neighborhoods surrounding it. It is USATF certified, which draws competitive runners alongside those out for a solid morning effort. A course record that has stood for well over a decade still has cash on the line for anyone who can crack it, so the front of the field tends to mean business.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at Kilby House, a building in the middle of the high school campus, and the organizers strongly recommend using it. Race morning pickup is available but can back up quickly. After the finish, there are food trucks and post-race snacks in the courtyard just to the left of Kilby House, and awards are split between the auditorium and the courtyard.
