About the 4th Annual Poker Run 5K
The course starts at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, heads out of the park, turns around at a mid-course water stop, and returns to the finish. That turnaround is where the poker element lives: each runner picks up a pair of playing cards from a volunteer table. No poker knowledge required, just grab the cards and run back. Hot dogs and snacks are waiting at the finish.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local restaurant, with race-morning pickup available at the park. Parking is inside the park itself, on a dirt road toward the main pavilion. The race benefits a school cross country and track program, and awards go to overall, age group, and poker-hand winners.
