About the Pisgah Farms & Furlongs Half Mare-athon & 10K
The course runs through working thoroughbred horse farms along Pisgah Pike, which means you are passing paddocks, barns, and open pasture for most of the route. The half marathon goes through several farms; the shorter distance covers fewer. The terrain is what you'd expect from farm country, rolling and open, with horses likely visible from the course.
Packet pickup is the evening before at a nearby church, with the race starting at Ashbrook Farm the following morning. There are plenty of hydration stops on the half marathon course, though no gels are provided, so bring your own if you use them. Country Boy Brewing has beer at the finish.
