About the Pioneer Pace 5K Run/Walk
The course runs around a university campus, starting and finishing at a historic circle near the main building. The route is campus paths and roads, so the footing is smooth and the surroundings are shaded walkways and open quads. The race benefits local food banks, so the crowd tends to be neighbors and families as much as runners.
Packet pickup and race-day registration open well before the gun, giving you time to browse sponsor tables, stretch, and warm up. A group dynamic warm-up happens in the final minutes before the start. Stick around afterward for an awards ceremony with trophies for top finishers in each category.
