The race starts and finishes at a high school on the edge of Florence, with both a shorter and a longer distance option on the same course. Dogs on leashes are welcome to run alongside their people, and shelters bring adoptable animals to the finish area. The course is part of a regional race series, so the timing and age-group awards are competitive without the morning feeling that way.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school's main entrance, with race-morning pickup available as well. After you finish, there is food and music on site, and the kids' activities tend to keep families around for a while.
