About the Niekro Foundation Aneurysm & AVM Awareness 5K
This race supports aneurysm and AVM awareness and runs in two formats: a virtual option where you complete the distance on your own, anywhere you like, and an in-person run at Sugar Land Memorial Park in Houston. The park course is open to runners, walkers, cyclists, and hand cyclists, so the field tends to be a mix of people with very different connections to the cause.
The in-person event is tied to a fundraising platform where you can build a personal page or team and share it with friends and family to raise money alongside your miles. There is a registration deadline well before race day for anyone who wants their race gear delivered ahead of the event.
