About the NIDS Oral Cancer Awareness 5K Run/2K Walk

The course runs on a mix of paved and gravel trails through the county fairgrounds, a wide, open property that keeps things moving without a lot of tight turns. It holds rain, snow, or whatever the morning brings, so weather is not a reason to stay home.

Packet pickup opens early on race morning, with late sign-ups available shortly after. After the race, there is a DJ and sponsor giveaways on site. Top overall finishers take home a gift card to a local restaurant in Merrillville, with age-category awards alongside.
