About the Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K

The course runs out and back through the streets of Crown Point, starting and finishing at the fairgrounds, which sits inside a wooded park. The route is flat throughout, with water stops and port-a-potties spaced along both legs of the out-and-back, so you pass them on the way out and again on the way back. Music plays at the start and along the course.

Packet pickup happens race morning before the start, so there is no separate trip the day before. Carriage Court Pizza is at the finish, and awards go deep, covering overall, masters, Clydesdale, and Athena categories alongside age group placers across a wide range of divisions.

Common Questions About the Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K

Will I finish last at the Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:11:21, and the last recorded finisher came in around 4:25:16, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 214 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hub City Races: Half, 10K & 5K?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:13:04 while the median finisher took 2:11:21. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
