About the Newton Turkey Trot

The course runs out from Zervas Elementary School through residential Newton neighborhoods, picking up the Commonwealth Avenue carriage lane on the way to Newton City Hall before turning back the same way. It is a paved, open route with police monitoring the roads throughout. A shorter kids run uses the same start and finish.

The school parking lot is closed on race morning, so street parking nearby is limited. If you live within walking distance, that is genuinely the easier option. Proceeds go to local food pantries, which gives the morning a bit of purpose beyond the run itself.
