About the Newburyport High Street Mile
The course runs down High Street through downtown Newburyport, a one-mile road race that draws serious competitors alongside people crossing a finish line for the very first time. The route is point-to-point through a historic downtown corridor, so the surroundings give it a different feel than a park loop. Youth races are part of the morning, and families show up in numbers.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both happen at Atkinson Common before the start. After the race, the morning continues: the Yankee Homecoming Parade rolls through downtown shortly after, and there is a post-race gathering at a nearby sports bar for those who want to stick around.
