About the New Year's Resolution 1 Mile Run
This one happens indoors, on a track, which makes it its own kind of event. Runners are sorted into heats by expected finishing time, fastest going first, so you are mostly racing people at your own level. There is also a more casual heat for anyone who wants to cover the distance without chasing a clock.
The race is put on by the county parks and recreation department. Race-day registration opens in the morning, with a pre-race option that closes a few days before. No track spikes are allowed on the indoor surface.
