About the New Year's Prediction 5k and 1 mile Run/Walk

This New Year's morning event in Albuquerque has an unusual format: instead of racing a clock for speed, runners and walkers try to finish at exactly a set moment, without checking a watch or phone during the effort. Getting the pace right is the whole puzzle. The event is free and tied to the local recovery community, with donations going to a nearby recovery program called Soul Recovery Cafe.

On-site registration opens in the morning before the start. There are no electronics allowed once you begin, so it is worth thinking through your pace strategy before you line up.
