About the Mustache Dash 5k - Jeepers Creepers Jeep Show

The Mustache Dash is named for a fallen Anderson police lieutenant who was also a personal fitness trainer and had planned this very race for his own clients before his passing. Proceeds go to South Carolina C.O.P.S., which supports the surviving families of officers lost in the line of duty. The race carries a specific story behind it, and most people who show up know it.

Packet pickup happens on race morning, beginning about an hour before the start, so there is no need to make a separate trip the day before.

Common Questions About the Mustache Dash 5k - Jeepers Creepers Jeep Show

Will I finish last at the Mustache Dash 5k - Jeepers Creepers Jeep Show?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:10, and the last recorded finisher came in around 46:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Mustache Dash 5k - Jeepers Creepers Jeep Show a good first 5K?

It is a small race (71 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Mustache Dash 5k - Jeepers Creepers Jeep Show?

The 5K winner ran 17:32 while the median finisher took 33:10. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
