About the Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run

The Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run is a costume-friendly benefit race for a breast and ovarian cancer care organization serving the local area. The morning builds up gradually, with a survivor parade and opening ceremony before the start gun, so there is real texture to the event beyond the course itself. Runners are chip-timed; walkers and strollers are equally welcome.

Packet pickup runs across the two days before the race and again on race morning, all at the Beaumont Civic Center lobby on Main Street. Teams are a big part of the culture here, with fundraising goals and survivor tributes on race day. The Kiddie Zone and a wellness village open up afterward for families to linger.

Common Questions About the Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run

Will I finish last at the Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 57:55, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:31:07, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run a good first 3.1 Miles?

With 1,064 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Monster Dash 5K Ribbon Run?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:54 while the median finisher took 57:55. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
