About the Monday Night Mile 9
The Mile is run on a track, with all ages and abilities sorted into their own separate heats across the evening. There are divisions for young kids, boys and girls, recreational runners, masters, and elites, plus a walking heat and a shorter single-lap option for the youngest participants.
The race benefits Akron Children's Hospital, and that purpose gives the night a particular energy. Families tend to stick around to watch heats beyond their own, so there is a real crowd at the track through the whole evening.
