About the Monarch Migration Run
The course runs through Ruby Grant Park, which sits along the monarch butterfly migration path and serves as a stopover habitat for them each fall. The trail is scenic, and the race is timed to coincide with the butterflies actually passing through, so the setting has a reason behind it beyond a typical park run.
A local restaurant is on hand before and after with tea and lemonade. Once the race wraps, the park transitions into a broader festival focused on monarch conservation and pollinator education, so there is plenty of reason to linger rather than head straight to the car.
